Realtor Stuart Nesbitt
How do you find a real estate agent that will do a good job for your high-rise condo? Start with the right Realtor and these tips. I'm a condo specialist and have experience helping buyers, sellers, renters and landlords in high-rise condominiums all over Northern Virginia.
The goal is to find an agent with a plan and personality that will accomplish your goal of buying a condo that fits yours and your budget. Interviewing so many candidates can make you confused because everyone uses different strategies to get you sign a representation agreement. It is important that you stay focused on your goals and don't get distracted by a flashy sales pitch.
I recommend that you select the agent that looks professional, acts professional, shows you that he or she knows what they are doing and most importantly fits with you and your personality. The most important suggestion is not to base your decision on who gives you the best price for their services, but to find the agent that is most qualified based on their qualities, abilities, and array of services. Sometimes when you spend less, will cost you more in the end, because your agent matters.
This isn't to say that you should try to save money. A Nesbitt Realty agent can save you thousands of dollars on your next purchase.
What To Ask A Real Estate Agent
When you call the agents - and it's best to call several - you want to verify that they do have experience selling properties like yours. Ask for examples. Do they actually have any experience working in condos? It's tough to find a Realtor who has worked more condos than I have.
Will the agent show properties on your schedule or on theirs? Do they even have time to help you? I'll make it work for you, the client.
Will the agent be there at closing? I'll be there with you every step of the way.
Trust your intuition when choosing an agent. If you don't feel comfortable with an agent, it's possible potential listing agents won't either. You don't want a tougher negotiation because your Realtor is tough to work with. You don't just want to find a real estate agent you like.
