But my post isn't about this property in Fairlington Villages. Instead, I want to take a moment to talk about the “Little City” of Arlington VA. Here are some of the things that I love Arlington
The Signature Theatre is a regional professional theater located on Campbell Avenue in Arlington. The Signature is an award winning theater that presents contemporary and classical plays and musicals as well as new works. On the other hand, the Synetic Theater is an award-winning physical theater located in Crystal City. In physical theater, the story is told through motion instead of relying on words.
Arlington has numerous interesting museums and is in very close proximity to capitals collection of world renown attractions and museums. Just a few of these include the Smithsonian Institution, the Air & Space Museum, National Gallery of Art, Library of Congress and many many more.
Arlington is pet-friendly and has a number of dog-parks including Benjamin Banneker Park, Shirlington Park, Fort Ethan Park, Glen Carlyn Park and more.
Shirlington is a little gem in Arlington. It has a unique sidewalk cafe atmosphere and is home to PBS.
Ballston is the first/last stop in Arlington's Ballston-Rosslyn Corridor. The hub of this community is the Ballston Common Mall and there are many shops and restaurants in close proximity to this metro. There is no parking at the Ballston Metro Station. Ballston is on the Orange Line.

Clarendon is home to high-rises as you approach the Metro, but just a few blocks away Clarendon also has older single family homes in established neighborhoods.
Many people consider Clarendon the center of Arlington's social scene because of its active nightlife and many dining spots. Clarendon offers tastes for every tongue from Texan to Thai food. The nightlife includes everything from salsa and ballroom dancing to blues or electro-modern. The post-modern high-rises along Wilson Boulevard stand along 100 year oaks, and just a few blocks away bungalows and colonials remind us of old Arlington County.
In addition to the Clarendon Metro, Clarendon is where you'll find the "Court House" Metro Station. Court House is located at the Arlington County "Courthouse". The area surrounding the courthouse is commonly called Court House owing the station here on the Orange Line. Immediately surrounding the courthouse at Court House, there are a number of restaurants and shops, and a movie theater. The Arlington campus of Strayer University is right above the Metro station, making easily accessible to students across the DC metro area. High-rises, both residential and commercial, dominate the skyline near the metro, but just few blocks away one will find garden-style homes and single family homes. Verizon is a large employer headquartered here in Court House.

Residents of Crystal City enjoy a remarkably convenient lifestyle. Centered along a stretch of Jefferson Davis Highway (U.S. 1), Crystal City consists of a dramatic streetscape of office buildings, hotels, high-rise apartment buildings, shops and restaurants — all shaded by trees and linked by brick sidewalks. Crystal City is in close proximity to Aurora Highlands and Arlington Ridge.
Aurora Highlands is located on a small knoll that rises just a few feet above Crystal City. Aurora Highlands was so of a work-a-day neighborhood that has transformed over the years into one of the areas pricier places to live. This is because the single family homes are in close proximity to the Pentagon and Washington DC.
Arlington Ridge is on a more prominent ridge overlooking the Potomac Valley. In days past Arlington Ridge was a get-away from the city and a place where folks kept a second-home or cottage in the country. Today Arlington Ridge has only a few reminders of its humble and more rural beginnings. Arlington Ridge is home to some of the nicest and priciest homes in Northern Virgina.

North Arlington is one of Northern Virginia's most desirable residential neighborhoods. North Arlington is treasured for easy commutes along rolling avenues lined with mature trees. The homes here are stately and although many are older they are well-cared for, updated and luxurious. Click North Arlington to see a map of homes for sale at North Arlington. (Or check for sales updates.) Residences of Lyon Hill is one of many condo communities in North Arlington.
Rosslyn is located in the northeastern corner of Arlington County, north of Arlington National Cemetery and directly across the Potomac River from Georgetown in Washington, D.C. The numerous high-rise buildings of Rosslyn appears (in some ways) more urban than nearby Washington.
Added to the mix are new condominiums, lively restaurants and exciting shops, all with easy access to Washington and close-in proximity to Interstate-395, the Pentagon and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

With its established café culture, live theater and pedestrian promenade, Shirlington has declared itself arts and entertainment capital of Arlington. Anchoring the Village at Shirlington is a multi-million dollar theater-library complex, home to Arlington's nationally-known Signature Theatre, and the state-of-the-art Shirlington Library.
Shirlington shares this part of southern Arlington County with Fairlington. While much of Shirlington is newly-built, Fairlington was built in the 1940s as the largest housing project financed by the Defense Homes Corporation during World War II. For this reason, Fairlington is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and on the Virginia Landmarks Register. The community of Fairlington has many brick townhouse-type condominiums.
