However, today's post isn't about this home in Alexandria. This is about why I appreciate Alexandria. There's a lot to love about Alexandria—more than will fit in this article, but here's some aspects I love living here:
- The Blue Line Metro starts in Franconia/Springfield and then come through West End Alexandria and through Old Town taking commuters to Arlington or into Washington DC.
- Alexandria was awarded the #1 Digital City of our population in the United States by the Center For Digital Government.
- The King Street Trolley runs every 10-15 minutes between Union Street and the King St Metro. It's a great way to see Old Town and visits some of Alexandria's many shops and restaurants.
- The George Washington Memorial Parkway was designed for recreational driving, but it's a regular commuter route for many Alexandrians. The Parkway links sites that commemorate important episodes in American history and also is a local wildlife preserve.
