I've always practiced the Golden Rule in my personal life, but when I became a Realtor, I also pledged to apply the Golden Rule to all my business dealings.
But what does that mean when you're talking about purchasing real estate?
It doesn't mean that you have to be a chump. It doesn't mean that you can't expect the best from your agent. But it does mean that:
We never want to argue or yell. If there is no possibility for agreement, it's time to move on—without hurt feelings. We are always honest about pre-approvals, earnest money and other facts that the seller should know. We're not interested in wasting the seller's time or the listing agent's time.
If you're homes spending $495,000 and you're properties property in Fairfax County, here are curated of my ideas.
