Northern Virginia is my hometown and almost everyday you'll find me working hard in or around Burke.

With that in mind, this post isn't about this mid-market colonial in 22015. Instead, I want to take a moment to talk about the elements I like Burke. I love:
- Burke is a place to find gently rolling streets with sidewalks and curbs. Burke is a place where mature trees provide shaded lawns.
- Despite it's bucolic atmosphere, Burke is dotted with neighborhood shopping centers so that grocers and conveniences of life are always nearby.
- We look forward to the Burke Center Festival. It's a a huge event with arts & crafts, karaoke, emergency preparedness displays, live bands, dance and other entertainment. There are of course food vendors, but also interactive puppet and wildlife shows, amusement rides, pony rides, hypnotist show. There is a basketball toss, Midway-style games, giveaways and drawings, not to mention an after-hours wine garden. Fun for all!
