Kite flying at Kite Festival At Gunston Hall
The Kite Festival is held annually at Gunston Hall near Lorton in Fairfax County. The festival is celebrated to welcome spring. Kite Festival is famous as a day of kite flying and family fun. There is also children’s activities, crafts, guided tours, and fun for all ages at the kite festival. Given below is a brief account of my visit to this year's Kite Festival.
This year the Kite Festival was held on April 13 from 10 am to 4 pm. The weather was quite nice that day and good for kite flying. I forgot to take my kite with me but fortunately, there were kites available for purchase in the museum shop. I also took a picnic basket with me, but it proved insufficient as I was accompanied by a couple of friends. But thanks to their local Lions Club, we were able to purchase some lunch and snacks at the venue.
We took our shots at the kite flying and were successful to keep our kites in the air for almost half an hour. After that, it, unfortunately, got stuck in a tree and was torn. Then after lunch, we went for a stroll and looked at the stalls set up there for the kids. There were also guided tour arranged for the kids at the museum. there were visitors of all ages who were enjoying their day at the Kite Festival.
Overall, it was a nice experience and we returned home with the resolution to visit again this festival next year.
