Fountainhead Regional Park is located at the border of a tributary of the Potomac River, in Fairfax County. Boating at Fountainhead Regional Park
Boat Rental
Fountainhead Regional Park rents out a variety of boats for use on the Occoquan Reservoir, including Jon boats, kayaks, and canoes. Boat rentals are available from March to mid-November, depending on the weather. You can rent boats by the hour or for the entire day at the Fountainhead Regional Park.
Bull Run Occoquan Trail
The longest natural surface trail of Nova Parks is the 19.6 mile Bull Run-Occoquan hiking trail. This trail connects Bull Run, Hemlock Overlook, Bull Run Marina and Fountainhead Regional Parks. It is perfect for hikers or those on horseback.
Fishing
You can enjoy fishing at Fountainhead Regional Park because the no wake zone allows for peaceful fishing from Occoquan to Bluemont. There is a large number of largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, perch, bluegill in the reservoir which is regularly stocked. The park’s bait shop provides a wide selection of bait and tackle, snack bar, fishing scale, bragging board, a 250-foot fishing pier, and a 100-foot floating dock. It should be kept in mind that all fishing in Virginia requires a license.
Mini Golf
Fountainhead Regional Park has an 18-hole Miniature Golf course. The course is open daily in the Summer while opens on weekends in the Spring and Fall.
