According to an article by arlnow.com, the annual one-week event which will start in mid-August at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center will feature Arlington-based New District Brewing Company and a special “kid-friendly” goat yoga session at the fairgrounds.
“For the first time in our 43-year history, the Arlington County Fair will host a beer garden,” organizers wrote on the fair’s website. “New District Brewing Company will feature hand-crafted, delectable beers to cool you off on a warm summer day.”
The beer garden will be open on these days:
Friday, August 16, from 3-6:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 17, from 12-6:30 p.m.
Sunday, August 18, from 12-6:30 p.m.
Fair-goers will be able to enter the beer garden for free and enjoy a New District beer.
There will also be a goat yoga session on Saturday, August 17, from either 9-10 a.m. or 10:30-11:30 a.m. The tickets to the hour-long session are going for $40. The baby goats are from Salem, Va.-based Walnut Creek Farm, and participants will be asked to bring their own mats.
The County fair will run from Aug. 14-18 and will feature rides, food, games, performer, exhibits and live music. There will also be some of the most popular rides from past years including the Zipper, the Heart Flip, and the Rainbow from the Cole Shows Amusement Company. The entrance to the fair will be free. There will be no parking at the fairgrounds but shuttles services will be provided from areas throughout Arlington.
