The neighborhood which was established in 1942 was named after a spring that stood on the property of Mr Frank Hume. It now comprises of 175 all brick townhouses with stoops or small porches at the entrance. Hume Springs is within close proximity to notable landmarks and hot spots such as Birchmere. It is bordered by Four Mile Run Park with Potomac Yard shopping district and Coral Kelly Recreation area to the east. Residents can access commute via Braddock Road Metro.
