Kids and families of the Samuel L Tucker Elementary School is in need of gifts this holiday season and you can help. Since 2001, residents of Cameron Station have been making students at Samuel L Tucker Elementary School happy during the holiday season through its Adopt-a-Family Program.
The Adopt-a-Family program which is chaired by Mindy Lyle has provided these kids with clothing, food, toys, gift cards and cash donations throughout the holiday season. So far this year 20 families have been adopted which is a decline from previous years when up to 60 families were adopted. Kids who are adopted as a part of the program receives free and reduced lunches. Mindy Lyle is urging some residents of Alexandria to participate in this program and help a family in need this Christmas.
