Where To Celebrate The Chinese New Year In Arlington

Chinese New Year, also known as the "Spring Festival" or "Lunar New Year" is one of the biggest festivals in China with a 7-day long holiday. In 2020, the Chinese New Year festival begins on Jan. 25. It is the Year of the Rat according to the Chinese Zodiac Calendar. The biggest Lunar New Year event in Northern Virginia is the Chinese New Year Parade in downtown Washington DC's Chinatown. But there are still several celebrations in Arlington that can help you kick off the Year of the Rat.

Lunar New Year Celebration At Fashion Center At Pentagon City

Join the celebration at Fashion Centre at Pentagon City on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from noon to 5 p.m. In partnership with the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, the event will immerse visitors in traditional Asian history with live entertainment including lion and dragon dances, a Hanfu fashion show, musical performances, and more. Guests will also participate in several hands-on activities. The event is free to the public.

Lunar New Year Family Day At Central Library

Central Library invites you to celebrate the Lunar New Year in this family-friendly event that will include a lion dance performance by Hung Vuong Lion Dance Team. You will also enjoy crafts and other hands-on activities following the performance. The event will be on 2 February 2020 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Central Library.

Celebrate the Year of the Rat with fine Chinese food and two lions dancing performance at Hunan Gate, 4233 N Fairfax Dr, on Saturday, Feb 1, at 6 pm.
