The receptionist seated us immediately in the center of the room at a table for six. Our assistant waiter was at our table with water almost immediately and a most friendly greeting. She was with us throughout the evening being most pleasant, very nice, efficient, and attentive. The receptionist brought a complementary An hors d'oeuvre appetizer. All the staff wore a simple black and white casual uniform.
Our waiter arrived shortly to explain the special and take our orders. The salads were served timely. However, the time between finishing our salads and the arrival of the main course was very excessive. Our waiter delivered the main dishes but was not sure who was to get what dish. Other than the mix-up, we experienced good and very attentive service. This is a very good bistro with excellent food. We ordered a rack of lamb and it was outstanding.
The restaurant had a high noise level. Every table and seat was filled. They do have a balcony along the wall of brick with booths against the wall for four people seating. It is a quieter area of the restaurant. I recommend sitting there if you have a party of four. Free public parking is only one block walk. The city has an amazing small city park at the intersection which is perfect for a short after-dinner walk and truly beautiful.
Last year I got a chance to visit 21 Great American Bistro. It is located at 10427 North St #102, Fairfax, VA at one of the most beautiful parts of this historic city in Northern Virginia.
