When I became a Realtor, I agreed to adhere to a Code of Ethics and one part of that code is the Golden Rule: treat others as you wish to be treated. But how can the Golden Rule apply when the other party has a house selling for $595,000 but you want to pay $565,250? It doesn't mean that you need to be stupid. It doesn't mean that you have to be a chump. But it does mean that:
We always remember the seller is entitled to the same level of humanity, dignity, and sense of fairness as I expect for my buyer client. I believe the Golden Rule transcends divisions of class, status, or race. We investigate before we buy and whenever possible before we even make an offer.
