Every licensed real estate adviser agrees to abide by a Code of Ethics and a part of that Code of Ethics is the Golden Rule. How does the Golden Rule apply to someone who is in a somewhat adversarial role? It doesn't mean that you're expected to pay more than a home like 121 Queen St is worth. It doesn't mean that a home buyer in 22314 in Alexandria needs to take every representation on faith. But it does mean that:
We never would consider putting offers on more than one property at the same time. (Assuming the shopper can only afford to buy one property.)We never want to argue or yell. If there is no possibility for agreement, it's time to move on—without hurt feelings.
