Without a doubt, curated owners accept any offer presented to them, and in 22304 in the City of Alexandria because of a variety of reasons. Of course, sellers are also known to reject offers in consideration of various rationale. Or make counteroffers. A counteroffer is especially probable when you make a lowball offer, or when there is more than one offer. When you receive a counteroffer, it's your choice. You can accept, continue negotiations or move on to the next place of residence in 22304 in Alexandria. Photo of 6301 Stevenson Ave #1108 In cases like these, as your Realtor, I'm there to help when you contact me. I will be your spirit guide to real estate negotiations in 22304, if you want to dicker with the seller. By this I mean that I will use my experience and negotiating skills as we craft a series of offers and counter-offers to help get you the right deal on the home of your dreams. This is what I do every day. When negotiations are on-going, you'll be right there with me. . I’ll help you understand the negotiating tips we will deploy. Those tactics will vary depending upon the property but in Alexandria, Virginia there are some conventions that we use repeatedly. In 22304, here are ideas every purchaser should see when negotiations commence:
  1. Within 24 hours of receiving a counteroffer, you should respond so that you can lock in a deal. Waiting to respond leaves time for another buyer to make an offer, and if a seller senses hesitation, he or she may withdraw their counteroffer before you even have time to respond.
  2. Know When to WalkIf you’re in the middle of negotiations and your gut – or your agent – say that it’s a bad deal, make sure you listen. If you have already made some trade-offs in your negotiating and don’t feel like you could make any more and the seller doesn’t seem willing to budge, walking away may be the best option for you. Walking away from negotiations can be a very difficult decision to make because you’ve already put so much time, effort, and emotion into your negotiations thus far. Even though walking away can be tough, after your feelings of frustration pass, you’ll see that a better deal is out there for you and that next time, you’ll have more experience with negotiating.
  3. Raise Your Price (Within Reason)

Even though you don’t want to overpay for a house, you have to keep in mind that you may end up having to increase your offer, particularly if your first one was on the low end. Let your agent’s expertise guide you in helping you determine how much you should increase your offer by to make it more appealing to the seller. As your realtor, I’ll use similarly priced “comps” – homes in your area that have recently sold and are similar in terms of square footage and features – to persuade the seller to see the appeal of your offer. Negotiations may escalate quickly and be stressful for you, and you may feel like doing whatever you have to do to get your hands on that home, but you will have to keep several things in mind in order to keep yourself from going overboard:
    • No matter what, you can’t exceed the monetary confines of the amount for which you were pre-approved.
    • You should, under no circumstances, exceed your budget.
    • You don’t want to buy a home and then not be able to enjoy it, so you’ll want to make sure your counteroffer is an amount that you’re comfortable spending so that you still have money to spend on living.
    • Remember, you’re not out of options yet.
