Residential Leaf Collection Begins In November For Alexandria

The City of Alexandria's leaf collection program will begin on November 4 and will continue until January 5th 2020. The city encourages all residents to recycle their leaves by raking the leaves to the curb for vacuum collection, placing the leaves in paper leaf bags for curbside collection or compost leaves and waste at their home. When preparing the leaves for vacuum collection residents should ensure the leaves are raked a day in advance and the leaves are placed into piles at the curb so as to facilitate a more efficient collection. Leaves placed in paper bags should be left on the curb on their regular trash collection day. Residents should ensure that the leaves are placed in paper bags only for collection. Residents interested in the collection of leaf and wood mulch can do so at 421 Eisenhower Ave for self serve pick up. The hours for pick up are Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 3:30 pm while supplies last.
