No Scooters On The Sidewalks Proposal Approved By City Council

Scooter usage has become increasingly popular in Alexandria and as such City Council has approved the proposal of no scooters on the sidewalks in Alexandria as they move forward with Phase II of the Dockless Mobility Pilot Program. The program which is expected to run until December 2020 will see changes being made to scooter usage in the City. The changes being made will see no scooters on the sidewalk, new speed limits and scooter riders wearing their helmets. Scooter companies will also be required to distribute scooters more equitably throughout the city. Scooter users must now use the parking corrals when they are available and only one rider is allowed per scooter. Residents are encouraged to learn more about the new rules of scooter usage.
