Special needs adults can know find employment through the locally owned B.E.S.T (Building Employment Solutions Together) program. The new special needs workforce was founded by residents Paola and Robert Pizzano after they saw a need for employment opportunities for special needs adults.
The special needs team was formed after contact was made with ServiceSource, a nationwide non profit organization that aims to facilitate services and partnerships that support people with disabilities and their families. After the partnership was developed, members of the B.E.S.T team started working at Pizzano Contractor in August 2019. The employees worked two days a week and was assigned various tasks including light cleaning, organizing and stock of office and kitchen supplies. The program currently has four members and the founders are hoping more companies would be open to employing these team members.
