The Coronavirus pandemic has prompted the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria to go virtual in their pet adoptions. The new virtual adoption process will allow shelter to find homes for the pets while maintaining and promoting social distancing.
Residents will be allowed to adopt the pet of their choice by filling out an online adoption survey and scheduling a 30 minute virtual meet and greet with two pets. After choosing their pet, persons will be required to have a phone adoption consultation with the staff. All adoption related fees and purchasing of pet supplies must be made online. After the adoption process is completed persons can pick up their pets by utilizing Animal Welfare League of Alexandria curbside pickup.
