According to the Mount Vernon Gazette, "Chef Caroline worked and made a name for herself in local restaurants for more than nine years before she was awarded a scholarship in 1990 from Les Dames d’Escoffier, a philanthropic organization of women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality, to attend the Ecole de Cuisine in Paris, France. After working in many respected American, French and Italian restaurants over the past thirty years, Chef Caroline’s menus at River Bend Bistro showcase her American comfort food with Mediterranean influences."
