City Of Alexandria and City Of Caen Sisters Cities Committee To Celebrate D-Day In June

The Alexandria-Caen Sister Cities Committee will be hosting two (2) events to commemorate the anniversary of D-Day. The Sister Cities International was established in 1956 by Dwight Eisenhower as a means of promoting peace between different communities around the world. Caen, a French City which was destroyed during the Battle of Normandy became a sister city to Alexandria in 1991.
