Hidden Pond Nature Center is located in Springfield in Fairfax County. Hidden Pond Nature Center is spread upon 25 acres of land and is an oasis of woodlands and wildlife. The one-acre pond is home to turtles, fish, frogs and many birds, among other animals. Hidden Pond Park is the perfect place to bring children of all ages as it features tennis courts, a playground, and a nature center. You can also see live animal exhibits in the nature center, as well as have the opportunity to purchase items such as educational books and food. Indoor Ski Slope To Be Built In Fairfax County

One of the largest indoor ski slopes in North America is said to be built at the Workhouse Arts Center at the site of the old D.C. prison in Lorton. The ski slope will be adjacent to the Workhouse Center in a complex to be known as Fairfax Peak. According to the developers, the approximately 500,000-square-foot facility will include a 1,500-foot ski slope, sky bar, 100-room hotel, and multiple restaurants and bars. Continue reading
