Indulge Your Sweet Tooth At The Chocolate Lovers Festival

The Chocolate Lovers Festival is an annual three-day festival held on the first full weekend of February. It features activities for all to enjoy. In 2020, the festival will be held Friday, January 31 for Liquid Chocolate only from 6-8 pm, Saturday, February 1 from 10 am-6 pm and Sunday, February 2 from 12-4 pm. There will be the Taste of Chocolate, the Chocolate Challenge, the Kiwanis BBQ Lunch and Craft Show, open houses at historic buildings and much more at the festival. Continue reading

Lucy Burns Museum To Open At Workhouse Arts Center

The new Lucy Burns Museum is opening at the Workhouse Arts Center on Saturday, Jan. 25. The historic logbook at the museum reads that a majority of the 72 Suffragists at the Occoquan Workhouse in 1917 were officially jailed for “obstructing sidewalks". This minor offense was enforced though, and it led to a turning point in the Women’s suffrage movement to secure voting rights for all women in the United States. Continue reading

New Trail Cycling Studio Offers Free Classes In Reston

Located at Lake Anne in Reston, New Trail Cycling Studio is launching its teen program on January 22. Classes will be offered every Wednesday at 4 p.m. for teens ages 12-17. The owner of the studio,  Liz Kamp, said, "the teen program has always been part of our plan. I started riding in my teens, and it was an important part of my teen years. It wasn’t just about the workout, but it was about being able to let go of the pressures outside the studio and just focus on me for 50 minutes." Continue reading

What Does Wessynton Neighborhood Offer?

Nestled in the hilly woodlands of southeastern Fairfax County, about half an hour from downtown, Wessynton is a neighborhood of 156 houses built in the late 1960s and early ’70s on land that was once part of George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate.
