Asian Festival Held In City Of Fairfax

The smell of Asian-inspired food and the sound of drums echoed through the streets as large crowds gathered to indulge in the Asian Festival on Main. The City of Fairfax brought the community together to celebrate Asian heritage through art, food and entertainment. On July 17, the Vienna Multicultural Festival was held to celebrate the end of the Liberty Amendments Month. Vaccination Required To Eat Inside Pho, Banh Mi & Grill

If you are not vaccinated for COVID-19, a Fairfax, Virginia, restaurant is not letting you dine inside. Pho, Banh Mi & Grill has put in place a new policy that only allows people to eat inside its dining room if customers show their completed vaccination card. The restaurant’s owner Francis Do, said he came up with his new policy after seeing President Joe Biden earlier this week express frustration over people who have not gotten vaccinated. Rotary of Great Falls Celebrates Ten Years

Ten years is an anniversary to celebrate, and the Rotary of Great Falls did it in great style. A gala reception at River Bend Country Club provided the occasion for remembering the club’s projects, speakers, and friends. President Stephen Clark introduced Master of Ceremonies Jeff Thinnes, the dynamo life-long Rotarian who founded the club. On that occasion, 85 newly minted Rotarians gathered at River Bend, a number that so amazed Rotary International that Thinnes was invited to speak at the international conference in Thailand that year. Long Branch Central Watershed Management Area Project To Be Launched In Fairfax County

The Long Branch Watershed is eight miles of streams over 3.71 miles in a heavily suburbanized area in mid-Fairfax County. It was declared an “impaired water” by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, due to erosion and sediment input, so Fairfax County is launching the "Long Branch Central Watershed Management Area Project," to reduce the waste load on the stream, improve water quality within the Long Branch Central watershed and improve habitat and environmental health of this county stream. Congressional Award Gold Medal To Be Rewcieved By Fairfax Co. Teen

Young students nationwide who have achieved extraordinary things are set to be honored by Congress later this month. And a Fairfax County, Virginia, the teen is among them. The Congressional Award Gold Medal, which is Congress’ highest honor for young Americans, is given out annually, and about 500 students will receive one this year. Established by Congress as a public-private partnership in 1979, the program encourages and recognizes initiative, service, and achievement in youth. Continue reading
