George Washington Parkway Roadwork Is Finally Done

The commuters in Northern Virginia's George Washington Parkway can relax now as the roadwork is finally done. The lanes are back open after more than five months of lane closures to repair a gaping sinkhole. One of two northbound lanes of the parkway has been closed since May. The National Park Service in a Friday morning news release said that work near Dead Run has been completed and drivers can once again use both lanes as they approach the Capital Beltway. Ratcliffe–Logan–Allison House

The Ratcliffe–Logan–Allison House, also known as Earp's Ordinary, is a historic home located at Fairfax, Virginia. It consists of two sections built about 1810 and about 1830 and is a small two-story, single-pile brick building. A two-story rear wing connected by a hyphen was added in the 20th century. A postal station and stagecoach stop operated from the building in the 1820s-1830s. Continue reading

Dream Home Created By Designer For Charity

Some of the area's best interior designers got together to transform a grand home into a showcase house to raise money for charity. Designers Quintece Hill-Mattauszek of Studio Q Designs, Rhonald Angelo of Rhonald Angelo Interiors and Sheryl McLean of McLean and Tircuit Designs were tapped to unleash their collective creative talent to create a library, a teenage girl’s bedroom and a lounge space for a family of six. The Washington West Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Reston, Virginia every autumn since 2011. This year its 9th edition will be presented at Bow Tie Cinemas 11940 Market Street, Reston, VA. The festival will continue from 24 October to 28 October.
