Explore National Air and Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's annex at Washington Dulles International Airport in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County, Virginia. Hundreds of historically significant air- and spacecraft, along with thousands of small artifacts, are on display in an open, hangar-like setting. Other features of the Center include the Donald D. Politzer discussed how she came to write and illustrate her newest book, “Fractured Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales and Potpourri,” as part of Sunrise’s new community forum, “Creative Conversations". Firefighters From Fairfax County Help Hurricane Affected Bahamas

The hurricane disaster in the Bahamas has seen an international humanitarian response including help from across the U.S. and from members of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue in Virginia. The local search and rescue team is known as USA-1 when working internationally. This team has been deployed along with firefighters from Los Angeles County as part of USAID’s Disaster Assistance Response Team. Continue reading
