Run & Walk In Support For Education At St. Rita’s Annual 5K & Fun Run

Join thousands of patrons at the 16th Annual St. Rita's Annual 5k & Fun Run on November 16th starting at 8 am. The race take place along Eisenhower Avenue and it will start and end at the US Patent and Trademark. The event will feature a 1k Fun Run for kids followed by a 5k Run/Walk. An award ceremony will held after the race where top finishers will be awarded with cash and gift cards from local restaurants and retailers. Proceeds from the race will benefit St. Rita School, a Catholic grade school in Alexandria.  Continue reading

Join Fibre Space For A Meet And Greet With Santa And Mrs Claus

Fibre Space located at 1319 Prince Street Alexandria will play host to Santa and Mrs Claus on November 19 from 3 pm to 8 pm. Bring the kids for a 15 minute meet and greet session with Santa where they will have their photo taken. Family photo sessions are also available with on spot holiday card printing. What Can You Enjoy At Chinquapin Park?

Chinquapin Park is located at 3210 King Street in Alexandria. During World War II the site of the park was known as Chinquapin Village, a war housing development for Torpedo Factory workers and an emergency facility for the United States Navy. The park still features some remnants of the neighborhoods. In 1971 the property was acquired by the City of Alexandria and was later opened as Chinquain Park by former Mayor Charles E Beatley. A recreation center was later opened in 1986. Continue reading
