Because most of the homes around the area were built more than 40 years ago and because there is minimal opportunity or cause for cut-through traffic, the surrounding area is relatively free from the congestion that is commonplace in the Washington Metro Region.
Alexandria City Park
Oronoco Bay Park is an Alexandria City 4.5 acre park found at 701 North Lee Street, on the Potomac River . Once known as Texaco Bay owned by John D. Rockfeller of the Standard Oil Company. In the 1980’s the property was acquired by the city and the name was changed. Indians had lived in the Alexandria area during the time Captain John Smith had sailed up the Potomac in the mid 17th century.
Wooden sun decks out into the river with a wooden boardwalk path connecting the path to the point where the bay and river joins near the Rowing Facility building. Anyone can enjoy the scenery from the allotted sitting and picnic areas. They can jog, walk or bike along the river’s path as well. The “Red Cross Waterfront Festival” is held in the park along with other festivals and events. The Oronoco Bay Park also allows private events to held in the park as well.

Arlington Ridge is found between the Pentagon, the Army-Navy Country Club and the City of Alexandria. Arlington Ridge is a neighborhood of beautiful homes, wonderful residents, and history. The Hume School which was built in 1891 is home to the Arlington Historical Society and was a full-working school until 1958. Fort Scott was named after General Winfield Scott, General-in-Chief- of the Army. It was built to protect the capital.
Also referred to as "The Ridge" this piece of land was prepared for construction of the Pentagon. The Ridge also has it's place in Revolutionary War and Civil War history. Army Navy Drive, formerly known as Old Georgetown Road in 1781, was the route used by General George Washington and the French troops to arrive in Yorktown,Virginia where the British were defeated.
With a Hollywood role as well, Arlington Ridge was featured in the opening of the 1987 film "No Way Out". With so much beauty and history Arlington Ridge makes for an ideal place to visit and live.

Pimmit Hills is a suburb of Falls Church located just inside the Capital Beltway where Rt. 7 enters Tysons Corner.
