National Museum of the U.S. Army To Open In Fairfax County

D.C. region’s newest free museum is set to open to the public on Nov. 11, Veterans Day. The National Museum of the United States Army is located in a publicly accessible area of Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Virginia. Construction on the privately funded museum began in 2016. The 185,000-square-foot museum houses almost 1,400 artifacts throughout 11 galleries in the five-story building. The museum’s 84 acres also include a garden, amphitheater, and a parade ground. Fort Belvoir Community Hospital

leaders in excellenceThe Army Corps of Engineers continues to oversee work on the new hospital at Fort Belvoir's the Main Post.  The hospital plans to be a state-of-the-art 1.3 million square foot facility that will serve the National Capital Area's military medical needs for many years to come. Go Army!Soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen who are planning on, or considering, separating or retiring from U.S. military service within the next year can begin planning their Individual Transition Plan by visiting the Fort Belvoir Army Career Alumni Program Center. The ACAP center is located on Fort Belvoir in Building 1017, Room 158. For information about upcoming programs and events, servicemembers are encouraged to contact Vernita Holifield at (703) 805-9263. She can also provide information about registering online using your AKO account.
