Chantilly is located in western Fairfax County in the Northern Virginia region of Virginia. Some interesting facts about Chantilly are as follows.

Chantilly is an unincorporated community, so there are no mayors or town councils.
Much of Chantilly lies between Rt. 50 and I-66 in Western Fairfax County near Dulles International Airport.
During the Civil War, the Battle of Chantilly took place nearby.
It is approximately 24 miles from Washington D.C. and is home to Dulles International Airport.
Located in Chantilly, Sully Historic Site, which was the home of Richard Bland Lee, northern Virginia’s first representative to Congress and Robert E. Lee’s uncle, gives visitors a peek into what life was like the eighteenth century.
One can explore aviation and space history and even watch Dulles Airport’s air traffic from the soaring observation tower at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, an extension of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.
Chantilly has Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Located along Route 28 between Chantilly and Centreville, the park houses athletic fields—including soccer, baseball, and softball fields, trails, and fitness stations. Coyote sightings have been reported within the park.
At one time, Compass Airlines was headquartered near Chantilly, in an unincorporated area.
The Westfields Marriott in Chantilly hosted the annual Bilderberg summit in 2002,2008, 2012, and 2017, which inspired protests.
