The George Washington Whiskey Festival will be held on November 9th at the Mount Vernon Estate 3600 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway in Alexandria. The event will feature some of the finest spirits from Virginia craft distillers and other famous whiskey producers. The festival will also celebrate the debut of a new batch of George Washington straight Rye Whiskey, which was distilled at George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate distillery using the original recipe by George Washington and aged in charred oak barrels for four years. Patrons at the festival will also learn about the history of the distilled products, watch coopering demonstrations, live music, entertainment and more. Mount Vernon Neighborhood Friends To Host French-Virginia Wine Dinner In Alexandria

The Mount Vernon Neighborhood Friends, a group made up of residents living in the area surrounding Mount Vernon will be hosting a French-Virginia Wine Dinner on Saturday Aug 3 at Mount Vernon Country Club at 5111 Old Mill Road. The dinner, which solidifies the relationship between the US and France will benefit the restoration of the west front of the exterior of George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate. At the dinner, chief sommelier of Barboursville Vineyards, Jason Tesauro will compare and contrast four Virginia wines with their French counterparts with Mount Vernon Country Club Executive Chef Bryan LaForge preparing a four course dinner with each wine.
