If you want to stay within walking distance to metro in a larger condo, Montebello is the best deal in town!

Heritage Hill is a townhouse subdivision located in the well established community of Franconia (established in the 1870's). The area will appeal to commuters owing to its close proximity to the Huntington Metro, Old Town Alexandria and I-495. Many homes here are situated close to the forested area of Heritage Hill Park which divides Heritage Hill and Telegraph Road.
If you have a friend who is looking for easy metro access, a 3 bedroom home and only wants to spend about $300k to $350k it will be tough. But here are my best suggestions:
The Huntington Metro is also an option at with homes at Bucknell Manor and the Fort Hunt area. This is a traditional 1950’s neighborhood with lots of trees and good schools. Huntington Metro has 4500 parking spaces, so it’s a great metro to live close to because you can park and ride.
I also like parts of Franconia near Van Dorn but there is no parking at the Van Dorn Metro. Springfield and Burke are quite suburban but there is parking at the Franconia Springfield Metro.
I doubt you can find anything in Alexandria or Arlington that comes close to fitting in your budget. It’s possible to find home not far from the Vienna Metro. If you head further out towards Centreville and Oakton you can might find a home that suits you and you can drive to park at the Vienna Metro.
Richmond Highway Express, nicknamed "REX" is a bus route operated by the WMATA (the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) in partnership with Fairfax County, the City of Alexandria, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Federal Government. The REX is a limited stop express bus that serves the Richmond Highway corridor. Before the REX, riders from Fort Belvoir had many stops to make along Richmond Highway enroute to Huntington Metrorail Station and to the King Street Metrorail Station.
REX buses operate every 15 minutes in both directions on Richmond Highway during weekday rush hours. During non-rush hours and on Satuday the REX comes through every 30 minutes. Then on Sunday the bus only operates every 60 minutes. Buses operate between 5:30 AM and 10:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM on Sunday.
The REX uses special technology which allows REX buses to sustain green lights in order to move more quickly up and down Rt. 1. The REX bus has low-floor buses for quicker boarding and SmartCard for quicker paying. In addition the REX has only a limited number of stops:
Jackson Loop (North) & Gunston Road (Fort Belvoir)
REX passengers may transfer at any Richmond Highway stop to Fairfax Connector routes, and may transfer at Huntington and King Street Metro stations to rail service as well as other local bus service such as Alexandria’s DASH.
To stand-out from other Metrobuses and other area bus lines, REX buses are purple-blue with a golden yellow logo featuring the image of a running lion. The lion references the three lions emblazoned on the Fairfax County seal, which references the family crest of Lord Fairfax. Bus stop signs use the same color scheme, and stand out among the other bus stops along Route 1.
Kim's Barbershop is located in the Huntington Station shopping center at N. Kings Hwy Alexandria, VA 22303. The phone number for Kim's Barbershop is (703) 960-3325. Kim's Barbershop is right across from Huntington metro. Kim's Barbershop is a few shops away from Abi's II.
Jefferson Manor Park is located just off Telegraph Road near the US Capital Beltway.
Jefferson Manor is a community of well-built townhouses located in Fairfax County Virginia in close proximity to the Huntington Metro. These homes were built in the late 1940's and early 1950's when one could expect a sturdy brick and mortar construction with hardwood floors. The original kitchens are smaller than modern kitchens but most homes here have a fully renovated galley kitchen and in some cases an addition to the kitchen.
Jefferson Manor Park provides green space for the community. Jefferson Manor is served by Mount Eagle Elementary School, Twain Middle School and Edison High School.
