Learn More About Beach Park In Alexandria

Beach Park is a 1.42 acres neighborhood park located at 201 Rucker Place in Alexandria. In the early 1970s the park was named in the honor of school principal Lillian Beach and has since been adopted by the Rosemont Citizens' Association. The park features an open lawn area with seating and a playground for the kids with a slope which is used for sledding during the winter months. It is home to many oak trees, maple trees, dogwoods and locust trees. The park is a popular place for residents of the area to meet and socialize and it is the venue for the hosting of annual Rosemont Citizens Association events. Continue reading

What Is At Chambliss Park?

Chambliss Park is a 8.16 acres neighborhood park located at 2505 North Chambliss Street on the west end of Alexandria. The park is adjacent to Dora Kelly Park and John Adams Elementary School. The park is a popular place for persons to walk their dogs, play tennis, go sledding during the winter and to play baseball. The Potomac Yard Park is a 23.4 acre neighborhood park located at 2501 Potomac Ave in Alexandria. The park was designed and constructed through a partnership between the Alexandria City Council and Pulte Homes. The park features picnic tables and pathways with ADA accessibility, outdoor stage area for the hosting of special events, Stormwater Management Ponds, Walking/Bicycle trails and passive seating areas with historical interpretations. Sports fanatics can enjoy park facilities such athletic fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and volleyball courts. There is a playground for kids to enjoy which is ADA accessible. Why Goat Hill Park In Alexandria?

Goat Hill Park is a 2.5 acres park which is located at 33 Kennedy Street in Alexandria. The small park was dedicated to the City of Alexandria in 1953 and has since been adopted by the Warwick Village Citizens' Association. The park which is located within the Warwick Village residential neighborhood features three different areas: a playground with standard equipment and rubberized surface which is perfect for the kids from ages 5-10 to enjoy, a natural wooded area and an open lawn that is used for relaxation and blanket picnics. The park which is known as 'the pit' was officially opened in June 1943 and was adopted by the North Ridge Citizens Association.
