Alexandria's Farmers Markets are a celebration of farmers, artisans and community spirit. The Farmers Markets in Alexandria not only feature fresh produce and fruits but also goods ranging from locally roasted coffee, pressed juices, baked goods, arts, jewelry and much more. The City of Alexandria is home to five (5) Farmers Markets which are favorites of the residents. These Farmers Markets are:
Old Town Farmers' Markets
Old Town Farmers' Market - this is the country's oldest farmers market. This market is held at Market Square, 301 King Street every Saturday Morning all year round. This site was also used during the time of George Washington who would send his goods from Mont Vernon for sale at the market. The market features over 70 vendors offering a wide array of goods including fruits and vegetables, potted plants, soaps, paintings, meat and poultry among others.
Old Town North Farmers' Market - this market is located at Montgomery Park at 901 North Royal Street. This market is operated on Thursdays all year round with carious opening hours based on the seasons. The market accepts donations of healthy, no perishable foods in proceeds of Food Pantries of ALIVE and Lazarus Ministry.

This market is operated at the corner of East Oxford and Mount Vernon Avenues. The market operates all year round on Saturdays from 8 am to Noon. Del Ray Farmers Markets offers fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, fresh pasta and sauces, Amish cheese, yogurt, baked goods and fancy nuts.

Arlandria Farmers' Market
Four Mile Run Farmers' & Artisans Market - managed by the Four Mile Run Farmers and Artisans Market Management in partnership with the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, this market is located at the entrance to the Four Mile Run Park at 4109 Mt Vernon Avenue in Alexandria. The market operates on Sunday and it offers fresh nutritious foods to people of all income. The markets offers food stamps and it gives local artisans and producers the opportunity to sell their goods as it strives to improve the quality of life for Arlandria residents.

This market operates at Ben Brenman Park 4800 Brenman Park Drive. It is open on Sundays between May-October of each year. The market offers colorful displays of fresh vegetables and fruits, gourmet coffee, freshly squeeze orange juice, baked pastries, cheese and yogurts as well as freshly baked bread.
