Institute For Defense Analyses Moves To Potomac Yard

The Institute for Defense Analyses broke ground for the construction of its new headquarters in Potomac Yard. The nonprofit corporation which runs three federally funded research and development centers will be located at 730 East Glebe Road, a little over a block away from the future Potomac Yard Metro Station and the future Virginia Tech Innovation Campus. The new headquarters will feature 370,000 square foot of conference center, conference room space, on site cafe, health and fitness center and improved collaboration space and design to meet evolving security requirement. Apartment Hotel Slated For King Street In Old Town Alexandria.

King Street in Old Town Alexandria could become the new home for an apartment hotel slated to be constructed at 805 King Street. The 15 unit apartment hotel will be constructed in an unused office space above the Warby Parker Store. Property owners Asana Partners have stated that "the proposed apartment hotel would provide tourists and business travelers the opportunity to experience Alexandria and patronize the local restaurants and shops". The proposed space for the hotel would total 6,584 square feet on the first through fourth floors with rooms slated to be between 225 and 527 square feet with a small kitchen. Hotel guests would also be able to access a ground level courtyard. Guests to the hotel will make their booking online and staff would be available via phone for assistance.
