Volunteers Needed In Fairfax County To Help With COVID-19 Vaccinations

Interested in helping with the COVID-19 vaccination effort? If you are — and can pass a criminal background check — you could help with Inova Stonebridge’s vaccination site in Alexandria. Volunteers are needed daily for at least the next six weeks to help clinical and logistical support teams. Fortune’s 10 Best Companies To Work For Include Hilton, Capital One

Fortune’s annual 100 Best Companies to Work For, this year based on surveys of more than 500,000 employees, puts two large companies with headquarters in the D.C. region in the top 10. Hilton Worldwide ranks No. 3, while Capital One Financial ranks ninth. Both are headquartered in McLean, Virginia. Hilton has more than 9,000 employees in the D.C. area; Capital One, about 8,000. “Rivana at Innovation Station” To Seek Approval Next Week

A group of developers will seek approval next week for the first phase of a development that will straddle the Loudoun-Fairfax county line in what would be one of the biggest projects in the D.C. region. “Rivana at Innovation Station” will be a mixed-use development near the Innovation Center Metro station, and, as planned, will eventually include 4.4 million square feet of development. The area, bounded by Route 28, the Dulles Toll Road and Innovation Avenue, could eventually support up to 9 million square feet of development.Continue reading

Vienna Welcomes Greenheart Juice Shop

The “MJ” is a juice mixture of celery, cucumber, kale, spinach, parsley, lemon, mint, pineapple, apple, and ginger, and a top seller among juices at the Greenheart Juice Shop that just opened off the bike trail in Vienna. “We call it salad in a jar,” said store manager Christina Childs, who grew up in Vienna and now lives in Oakton. “It sounds real healthy but it tastes really good too,” she added Alicia Swanstrom, the co-founder of the store along with CEO Matt Cahir. Cancer Treatment Center To Open In Fairfax

Virginia Cancer Specialists’ new cancer treatment facility in Fairfax
Fairfax, Virginia-based Virginia Cancer Specialists, the largest private cancer practice in Northern Virginia, is opening its newest location at 8613 Lee Highway in Fairfax on April 13. It is VCS’s largest diagnosis and treatment center. The center replaces an existing VCS location in Fairfax at 8503 Arlington Boulevard, which is closing, with physicians relocating to the new location.
