Next Phase For Snow Sports Facility In Lorton Approved By Fairfax County

Fairfax County voted on an interim agreement to build one of the longest indoor ski slopes in North America on a closed landfill. The Board of Supervisors approved the agreement at a board meeting last week, which allows Alpine-X to explore building a 450,000-square-foot snow sports facility at the site of the I-95 landfill in Lorton, the Lorton Patch reported. Be A Part Of Virginia State Park’s “Trail Quest Program”

The Virginia State Park’s “Trail Quest Program” offers adventure for all. Participants earn levels of recognition by accumulating unique state park visits, leading to the title “Master Hiker,” by completing visits to all 39 Virginia state parks. Nancy Heltman, Director of Visitor Services for Virginia’s Department of Conservation and Recreation, found “…the program gets people to new places,” exploring beyond the nearest park that they might visit often. Pizza Twist Opens In Herndon

Pizza Twist is the newest addition to Worldgate Centre in Herndon, Virginia. It is a fusion pizza shop with both traditional pizzas and pizzas with an Indian cuisine twist. The new restaurant, which also has a full bar, joins more than a dozen other dining spots at Worldgate. Pizza Twist opened on Thanksgiving Day after original opening plans were delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Continue reading
