The 39th Annual Ballyshaners' St Patrick's Day Parade will be held on March 7 2020 in Old Town Alexandria. This year's Grand Marshal for the event is owner of Daniel O'Connell's Irish Restaurant and Bar, John Brennan. Duke Street Whole Foods in Alexandria is playing its part in fighting plastic pollution while donating to The Child & Family Network Centers by encouraging residents to walk with their own shopping bags. From now until June 1 2020 Whole Foods at 1700 Duke Street will donate the five cent bag fee to the local charity. The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) started in 1984 by a group of mothers living in a public housing community. The organization has since grown to help children and their families in need in Alexandria. Donate to a local charity and save the Earth by bringing your own shopping bags to Whole Foods at Duke Street.

Proposal For New Cat Cafe And Wine Bar Approved By Alexandria’s Planning Commission.

  .00 City officials has approved the proposal for the development of a new cat cafe and wine bar in Old Town Alexandria. The new one of a kind Mount Purrnon Cafe and Wine Bar will be located at the former home of Sand and Steel Fitness at 109 South Alfred Street in Old Town. The proposal for the business was deemed consistent with the Old Town Restaurant Policy and complies with the King Street Retail Strategy goals. Continue reading
