National CPR And AED Awareness Week To Be Recognized By The City Of Alexandria
The City of Alexandria has encouraged all residents to learn how to saves lives during National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Awareness Week from June 1-7. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a technique that is performed on someone who is having a cardiac arrest. The technique helps to preserve blood flow to the brain and heart and it should be followed by advanced cardiac care. Continue reading



The Alexandria-Caen Sister Cities Committee will be hosting two (2) events to commemorate the anniversary of D-Day. The Sister Cities International was established in 1956 by Dwight Eisenhower as a means of promoting peace between different communities around the world. Caen, a French City which was destroyed during the Battle of Normandy became a sister city to Alexandria in 1991. The events to be held will mark the 75th year since the Allied Forces stormed the shores of Normandy which led to a victory that became the turning point of World War II.
