Southgate Community Center In Reston To Be Renamed
Southgate Community Center in Reston may be getting a new name soon. Fairfax CountySupervisor Walter L. Alcorn (D-Hunter Mill District) presented a Board Matter at the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Meeting of May 4 that staff from the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) work with the community to rename Southgate Community Center in recognition of Supervisor Catherine M. The Peterson Cos. is in negotiations with Nike Inc. (NYSE: NKE) to open a Factory outlet at Fair Lakes Center, replacing a shuttered sporting goods store. The roughly 15,000 square feet, at 13027 Fair Lakes Center Drive, were last occupied by a Modell’s and a seasonal Halloween store. The space sits between a 5.11 and a Sally Beauty Supply in the big-box shopping center anchored by Target, Walmart, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Best Buy. 
The Seven Corners name came from four roads that created seven corners at their junction. These roads include State Route 7, U.S. Route 50, State Route 613, and State Route 338.
