The statistics for 2019 real estate transactions in Reston have been revealed and the numbers are up 5 percent from 2018, with 1,383 total transactions in 2019, an increase from 1,316 total transactions in 2018. There is also a 2 percent increase in total transactions from 2017 to 2018. Overall, the Reston market has had considerable improvement in the past three years in all three zip codes. The construction of a long-awaited, climate-controlled space to accept donations is soon going to begin at The Closet of Greater Herndon. With the construction of this structure, there will be no more standing in the rain, snow, sleet, heat and bitter cold to accept the community’s donations. Reston Community Center is all set to welcome visitors of all ages to its two brand-new pools later this year. These pools are ready after a nearly year-long construction project. The two new pools include a 25-yard lap pool with beach entry and water play features and a deeper, warm-water exercise pool. These pools will allow RCC to offer more aquatics programming at its renovated facility. Other renovations include a new roof, all new equipment systems for water filtration and air-handling, updated and more effective stormwater management, and locker room improvements. Continue reading
