Parsons Corporation To Acquire Herndon-Based BlackHorse Solutions

Centreville, Virginia-based defense, engineering, and IT security contractor Parsons Corporation will acquire Herndon-based BlackHorse Solutions for $203 million. Parsons, one of the oldest defense and engineering contractors, will expand its next-generation military, intelligence, and space operations with the BlackHorse acquisition, and bring its nearly 200 employees, most with high-level security clearances, onboard. StarKist Co. To Relocate Its Headquarters To Reston

Charlie the Tuna is coming to Northern Virginia. StarKist Co. will invest $3.6 million to relocate its Pittsburgh corporate and administrative headquarters to Reston. It will lease 24,000 square feet in Boston Properties’ 1875 Explorer Street in Reston Town Center. The move will create 83 new jobs, according to announcements from Virginia Gov. Fairfax County To Discuss Rolling Road VRE Station Improvements

A virtual meeting is planned to discuss planned improvements at the Rolling Road Virginia Railway Express station in Burke. The Fairfax County Department of Transportation will host the meeting on Thursday, June 10 at 7 p.m. The transportation department will discuss its Rolling Road VRE Parking Lot Expansion project. Marshall Dantzler Of Chantilly Honored By National Agricultural Statistics Service

Marshall Dantzler, a Chantilly resident and longtime member of the Centreville-Chantilly Rotary Club, was honored April 21 by the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). He was one of three former employees inducted into its Hall of Fame, which recognizes those whose work has had a lasting impact on agricultural statistics and the service NASS provides. Amazon’s First East Coast Grocery Store Opens In Franconia

Amazon opened its first Amazon Fresh grocery store on the East Coast Thursday in Franconia, Virginia, a suburb of the nation’s capital. It also announced it is hiring employees for a second store, which will open soon in Chevy Chase, Maryland. In the Festival at Manchester Lakes shopping center, at the site of a former Shoppers, t-shirted employees with the word “Fresh” on the shoulders greeted customers and explained the technology options to shoppers. CACI International Inaugurated New Reston Headquarters

Government contractor CACI International cut the ribbon on its new Reston, Virginia, headquarters, built with the environment and employee wellness in mind, on May 27. CACI has vacated its longtime headquarters building in Ballston, and has also consolidated another location in Reston to the new headquarters, at 12021 Sunset Hills Road, just off the Dulles Access Road. Burke Farmers Market Provides Direct Farm-To-Table Approach

The Burke Farmers Market, operated by Fairfax County Park Authority in the VRE parking Lot, 5671 Roberts Parkway, was the first to open in the County program for the 2021 season. It will be the last one to close, currently scheduled for Dec. 18. The market is open on Saturdays, 8 a.m.–noon. Aimee So of Burke stood in the first aisle with her son, Landon, 4, enjoying the sun, the people, and the market’s vibe. “This is his highlight of the weekend.
