Home Values Rose In Fairfax County From Last Year
The average value of homes in Fairfax County, Virginia, increased since last year, and that will likely mean higher real estate tax bills this year, according to a new report. The Fairfax County 2021 real estate assessments report shows that 88% of homes in the county have increased in value on average by about 4.25%. Yelp's "Top 100 Places to Eat in 2021” list includes two restaurants in the District — Heat Da Spot, an Ethiopian and breakfast place on Georgia Avenue NW, came it at No. 4, while Erik Bruner-Yang’s ABC Pony in Navy Yard landed at No. 83. In Virginia, Centreville restaurant Manna Bistro & Bakery, also an Ethiopian spot, landed at No. 39.
The Noman M. Cole Jr. plant was among eight Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) facilities awarded by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the APWA in its annual Mid-Atlantic Region awards. Five of the awards were for Project of the Year and three honorable mentions.
The Peterson Cos. is in negotiations with Nike Inc. (NYSE: NKE) to open a Factory outlet at Fair Lakes Center, replacing a shuttered sporting goods store. The roughly 15,000 square feet, at 13027 Fair Lakes Center Drive, were last occupied by a Modell’s and a seasonal Halloween store. The space sits between a 5.11 and a Sally Beauty Supply in the big-box shopping center anchored by Target, Walmart, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Best Buy.
