What Can You Enjoy At Chinquapin Park?
Chinquapin Park is located at 3210 King Street in Alexandria. During World War II the site of the park was known as Chinquapin Village, a war housing development for Torpedo Factory workers and an emergency facility for the United States Navy. The park still features some remnants of the neighborhoods. In 1971 the property was acquired by the City of Alexandria and was later opened as Chinquain Park by former Mayor Charles E Beatley. Stevenson Park is a 8.49 acres neighborhood park located at 300 Stultz Road in West End Alexandria. The park is manage by the City of Alexandria and it was developed and dedicated to the city in 1969. Approximately 5 acres of the park is high quality forest with numerous old age upland oaks. Stevenson Park features many amenities and facilities that can be enjoyed by everyone.
Eugene Simpson Stadium Park is located at 426 East Monroe Avenue in Del Ray Alexandria. The park is a 9.94 acres open area which connects various points of the Del Ray neighborhood. The City of Alexandria developed the park in the 1950's after it was used as a train station and an area for many Civil War era houses which included an Aims/Poor house.
